About Alan
After a long career in tech — first as a contractor, then as a co-founder of a business serving that same industry — I stepped away from work earlier than planned due to ill health. While that chapter closed, it made space for something new: a slower, more creative life.
These days, I spend my time painting, walking quiet paths with my wife, and taking photographs of the landscapes and moments that speak to me — many of which later become subjects for my work. I’m drawn to stillness, subtle shifts in light, and the quiet emotion that lives in ordinary places. My paintings often reflect those themes — rooted in nature, grounded in feeling, and executed with care and detail.
Creativity runs quietly through our family. My wife and daughters are artistic in their own ways — from printmaking, quilling, crochet, garment making, pottery & ceramics to name a few. My eldest also makes props for film and TV. — and while we all express it differently, the creative thread is part of who we all are. Their support and shared love of making have been a quiet inspiration behind Albion Studio.
Based in the UK, our home is a calm one. Though our two grown daughters have both flown the nest, they remain close in spirit — and occasionally offer guidance and honest feedback on new pieces (which I secretly value more than I let on).
Albion Studio is where this new chapter lives — a space to share what I see, how I process it, and to offer others the chance to bring a little of that calm, quiet beauty into their own space.
